Les Paul

Lester William Polsfuss (June 9, 1915 - August 12, 2009) known as Les Paul, was an American jazz and country guitarist, composer and inventor. He was a pioneer in the development of the solid body electric guitar, which "makes the sound of rock and roll possible."  He attributes many innovations to be admitted. Although it is not the first to take advantage of the technique, were his first experiences with overdubs (also known as a tone on tone), delay effects such as delayed tape , phasing effects and multitrack recording among the first to arouse widespread attention.

His innovative talents in his game expanded, including licks, trills, sequences agreements, fretting techniques and timing, which inspired him apart from his contemporaries and many guitarists today.He and his wife Mary Ford in the 1950s and have sold millions of records.

Among his many honors Paul is one of the few artists with a permanent show at the Rock and self Roll Hall of Fame.It is mentioned prominently by the Music Museum on its website as "architect" and "recruiting key" with Sam Phillips and Alan Freed.
